'Gotham', 'Empire' get renewed for second season

Hip-hop drama 'Empire' and Batman prequel 'Gotham' are confirmed to return for the second season on FOX channel.

Actor Andy Samberg-starrer comedy 'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' will continue with the third installment, reported Aceshowbiz.

'Empire', starring Terrence Howard and Taraji P Henson, debuted on January 7. It will run for five episodes and end on February 4.

'Gotham', the DC Comics adaptation stars Benjamin McKenzie and Jada Pinkett Smith. It debuted on September 22 and is still running.

The three series join other returning shows like 'Bob's Burgers', 'Family Guy', and 'The Simpsons'.
