Nearly 400 text books, meant for free distribution to students of Government schools were seized from a shop and private school in nearby Coonoor today.
Based on a tip off that such text books were on sales in a shop, revenue officials raided the shop and recovered 69 books meant for free distribution among students studying 10th Standard to class 12, police said.
Similarly, the officials raided Stanes Higher Secondary school and seized 330 books from there.
The page, where it was mentioned 'free and not for sale,' was torn off from the books, they said.
