Govt aid for renovation of two temples

Financial assistance aggregating to Rs 3.75 lakh was given by the government today for the renovation of two temples in neighbouring Embalam village.

The assistance, given under a scheme of the department of Hindu Religious Institutions, was handed over to the trustees of the temples by Welfare and Tourism Minister P.Rajavelu.

While the Sri Balamurugan temple was given Rs 1.25 lakh, an Ayyanarappan temple got Rs 2.50 lakh toward meeting part of the expenditure for the renovation, officials said.
