Govt approves India-UK pact on skill development

The government today approved signing of an agreement between India and the UK on cooperation in the field of skill development, vocational education and training.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here.
According to the government, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will pave the way for closer bilateral cooperation in this field and help strengthen the Indian skill ecosystem, improving employment prospects for youth.
It will also improve the scale and quality of skill training efforts in India, it added.
