A government doctor was today arrested here for allegedly thrashing a nurse inside operation theatre after she failed to procure medicines on time during a caesarian operation.
After the incident, a large number of nurses staged a sit-in in front of the hospital gate demanding suspension of the doctor in Kabirchaura area here.
SK Shahi got irked with the nurse who was assisting him after she delayed bringing some medicines, police said.

Later, the nurse broke open a glass ampoule in operation room instead of breaking it in dustbin, after which the doctor got irked and thrashed her, police said.
A case has been registered at Kotwali police station and the doctor was held by the police for interrogation, the police added.
