The Uttarakhand government today formed a panel to ensure strict adherence to river rafting norms by the raft operators and take action against those who flout them by overcharging the rafting enthusiasts.
The Ganga Valley Rafting Management committee will be headed by the Tehri District Magistrate Indudhar Baudai, officials said.
"Ganga Valley Rafting Management committee will see to it that the river rafting norms are strictly followed by those in the trade and rafting lovers are not overcharged," Baudai said.
Action against raft operators will include cancellation of their licences, he said.
