Govt school accountant arrested for taking Rs 10,000 bribe

Lokayukta Police today arrested a government school accountant posted at Moondi in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a physically challenged teacher for paying his dues.
Acting on a tip-off, the accountant identified as Devendra Upadhyaya (47) posted in Government Higher Secondary School, Moondi was caught red-handed taking a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the Assistant Teacher, Khemgiri Goswami (50) for clearing his dues amounting to Rs 1.16 lakh, Lokayukta Inspector, Vijay Choudhary said.
A case under Prevention of Corruption Act is registered against the accountant and further investigations is on.
