Govt school principal held in bribery case

Principal of a government school was today arrested by Lokayukta Police for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 from a disabled teacher for withdrawing his salary and putting him on duties in a proper manner.

The Principal, identified as Ajay Nagaria, posted in Gaurjhamar High School was caught red-handed by the anti-graft wing on the complaint of the teacher, Nandram Yadav, Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Naval Yadav said.

Nandram had tipped-off Lokayukta that the Principal was demanding Rs 6,000 bribe for doing his work, following which a trap was laid and he was caught red-handed in his office taking Rs 4,000 from Nandram.
 

A case under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against Nagaria in this regard.

Further investigation is on.
