A principal in-charge of a government school in Dhar district was caught red-handed for allegedly taking bribe, Lokayukta Police said today.
The teacher identified as Dilip Vajpayee posted at Government H S School, Tanda of Dhar district was caught on a complaint of Bharat Singh from whom he had demanded Rs 2,500 bribe for issuing an appointment order for post of guest teacher, Lokayukta SP, Virendra Singh said.
The complainant was selected for the post of guest teacher group-3 and Vajpayee had demanded Rs 2,500 bribe, following which he tipped-off Lokayukta, the SP said, adding, later a trap was laid.
A case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him in this regard, he added.
