Gram, arhar turn weak on fall in demand

Gram and arhar prices fell by up to Rs 100 per quintal at the wholesale pulses market on easing demand from retailers from prevailing levels.

However, urad and its dal found selective buying and ended higher.

Traders said fall in demand from retailers at existing levels mainly led to decline in gram and arhar prices.

In the national capital, gram, gramdal local and best quality were down by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,450-4,900, Rs 5,100- 5,500 and Rs 5,500-5,600 per quintal respectively.

Arhar and its dal dara variety also declined by Rs 50 and Rs 100 to Rs 4,200 and Rs 6,100-8,000 per quintal respectively.
 

On the other hand, urad and its dal chilka rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,050-5,650 and Rs 5,000-5,100 per quintal respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 5,100-5,600 and Rs 5,500-5,700 per quintal.

Urad Rs 4,050-5,650, Urad Chilka (local) Rs 5,000-5,100, Urad best Rs 5,100-5,600, Dhoya Rs 5,500-5,700, Moong Rs 4,700-5,400, Dal Moong Chilka local Rs 5,400-5,600, Moong Dhoya local Rs 6,000-6,500 and best quality Rs 6,500-6,700.

Masoor small Rs 3,600-3,700, bold Rs 3,650-3,800, Dal Masoor local Rs 3,700-4,200, best quality Rs 3,800-4,300, Malka local Rs 4,100-4,300, best Rs 4,200-4,500, Moth Rs 3,600-4,000, Arhar Rs 4,200 Dal Arhar Dara Rs 6,100-8,000.

Gram Rs 4,450-4,900, Gram dal (local) Rs 5,100-5,500, best quality Rs 5,500-5,600, Besan (35 kg), Shakti bhog Rs 2,200, Rajdhani Rs 2,200, Rajma Chitra Rs 6,000-8,300, Kabuli Gram small Rs 7,000-8,000, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, Imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 4,000-4,200, Peas white Rs 2,650-2,675 and green Rs 2,700-2,800.
