Gram Sachiv arrested for taking bribe in Rajasthan

A Gram Sachiv was today arrested by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Rajasthan Police for allegedly taking bribe, an official said.

The accused official, Lokendra Dutt Sharma, posted in Nareli panchayat in Mandal Tehsil of Bhilwara, had demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a contractor to clear his pending bills amounting Rs 6 lakh, IG ACB Hawa Singh said.

After verification of the complaint, a trap was laid and the accused was held while accepting the bribe, Singh said.

The ACB sleuths also recovered an unaccounted cash of Rs 1.28 lakh following a search of his house, the IG added.
