Grass catches fire on prison premises; no damage

: Soaring daytime temperatures led to some dry grass in the central jail premises here catching fire this evening, but it was quickly doused.

The fire was noticed near the outer wall of the Jail around 4.30 PM by some officials, who immediately alerted fire and rescue personnel, who rushed to the spot with two fire tenders and doused the flames within an hour, police said.

There was no damage since it was on the outer premises, they said.
