Groundnut and cottonseed oil prices rose by Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale oilseeds market today following pick-up in demand from retailers.
In the non-edible section, linseed and castor oils also moved up on increased offtake by consuming industries.
Traders said pick-up in demand from retailers against restricted arrivals from producing belts mainly led to the rise in groundnut and cottonseed oil prices.

In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery (Gujarat) and cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) oils moved up by Rs 50 each to Rs 7,500 and Rs 6,050 per quintal, respectively.
In the non-edible section, linseed oil also rose by Rs 50 to Rs 8,150 per quintal on increased demand from paint industries.
Castor oil too traded higher by the same margin to Rs 9,650-9,750 per quintal.
