Groundnut oil falls on heavy arrivals

Groundnut oil prices fell sharply at the Vashi oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today on lower demand from stockists and retailers amid heavy arrivals from producing region.

Elsewhere, refined palmolein also eased owing to poor offtake from retailers.

Castorseeds bold and castoroil commercial weakened further following reduced demand from soaps and shippers industries.

Meanwhile, linseed oil ruled steady in absence of any large-scale buying.

In the edible oils, groundnut oil slumped at Rs 80 per 10 kg to Rs 1,020 from Wednesday's close Rs 1,100 and refined palmolein edged down by Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 583 as against Rs 585 yesterday.
 

Among the non-edibles, castorseeds bold dropped further by Rs 5 per 100kg to Rs 3,700 as compared Rs 3,705 and castoroil commercial softened by a Re per kg to Rs 770 per 10 kg.

Linseed oil unaltered at Rs 1,050 per 10 kg.
