Group of transport ministers to meet on June 12-13

A meeting of state transport ministers on road safety reforms will be held here on June 12 and 13 to discuss and finalize the changes in the motor vehicle act, Himachal Transport Minister G S Bali said today.

Around ten transport ministers of various states have confirmed to attend the meet that is being conducted by the Government of India, Bali said at a press conference here.

He said it is the third meet of the group of ministers. The earlier ones were conducted in Delhi and Bangalore.

The meet will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and chaired by Rajasthan transport minister Yunus Khan.
 

The minister said that the outcome of the meet shall play a key role in the amendment of the motor vehicle act, which is to be introduced in the monsoon session.
