Guargum prices spurted by over 3 per cent to Rs 6,040 per quintal in futures trading today after participants created speculative positions, tracking a firm trend at the domestic as well as overseas markets.
Moreover, pick-up in export demand too influenced guargum prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guargum for delivery in current month was trading higher by Rs 180, or 3.07 per cent to Rs 6,040 per quintal, with an open interest of 15,685 lots.

Also, guargum for most-active delivery in far-month October shot up by Rs 190, or 3.04 per cent to Rs 6,440 per quintal, with a business turnover of 42,718 open lots.
Marketmen said besides rising export demand, a firm trend at domestic spot markets and a firm trend overseas, mainly supported the upmove in guargum prices at futures trade here.
