Guarseed prices were down by Rs 42 to Rs 3,931 per quintal in future trading today following offloading of positions by participants, triggered by a weak trend at the spot markets.
Market players said a weak trend at the physical markets hit the supplies from growing regions against withdrawal of buying support by guargum makers at prevailing levels, leading to a fall in guarseed prices at futures trade here.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, guarseed for delivery in April lost Rs 42 or 1.06 per cent to Rs 3,931 per quintal, having an open interest of 86,030 lots.
While, guarseed for delivery this month too fell by Rs 38 or 3,847 per quintal, in an open interest of 22,470 lots.
