Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) seized an illegal consignment of ten firearms from a Madhya Pradesh native in Vadodara.
"On receipt of a specific tip-off that one person has been living in Vadodara with a purpose to deliver weapons, a team of ATS, along with Vadodara rural Special Operation Group staff, put a close watch and nabbed Rupsinh Juvansinh Karad at Kapurai cross road area in Vadodara city yesterday," ATS said today.
A total of 23 cases of illegal firearms trade have been pending against Karad in many parts of the state, an official release issued here said.

Police recovered five country-made pistols worth Rs 1.25 lakh, five country-made guns worth Rs 25,000 and 12 cartridges of around Rs 1200 from Karad, the release said, adding the seized consignment is valued at over Rs 1.50 lakh.
Karad, a native of Deepa ki Chowky village in Rajpur tehsil of Madhya Pradesh, allegedly used to buy weapons from one Pritamsingh Shikligar of Alirajpur town of that state and sell them in Gujarat.
He had earlier sold weapons in South Gujarat and Saurashtra regions, it said.
ATS has initiated an investigation about the number of deals involving such illegal weapons that were executed by the accused and others.
