Gupta new UP DGP

Arun Kumar Gupta, a 1977 batch IPS officer, was appointed Director General of Uttar Pradesh Police today.

Gupta had been appointed the new state DGP, Principal Secretary (Home) Debashish Panda said in a statement here.

Prior to his new assignment, Gupta held the post of Chairman and DG Police Recruitment and Promotion Board.

Gupta succeeds A L Banerjee who has retired.
