Gur ends steady in thin trade

The wholesale Jaggery market ended on steady note today as prices moved in a narrow range on alternate bouts of trading and settled around previous levels.

Marketmen said adequate stocks position against restricted buying by stockists and local parties mainly kept gur prices steady.

The following are today's quotations per quintal:

Gur chakku 2,700-2,800, pedi 2,750-2,850, dhayya 2,900-3,000 and shakkar 2,900-3,000.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,300-2,350, chakku 2,550-2,650, khurpa 2,450-2,500 and Ladoo 2,450-2,550.

Muradnagar: Pedi 2,400-2,475 and dhayya 2,400-2,450.
