Quiet conditions prevailed at the wholesale gur (jaggery) market in the national capital today as prices continued to move in a tight range on scattered deals in the absence of any worthwhile activity and settled unchanged.
Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar gur markets also showed a similar trend for want of support.
Marketmen said restricted supplies amid limited offtake
by stockists and retailers caused the steadiness in gur prices.
Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):
Gur chakku Rs 2,600-2,700, pedi Rs 2,600-2,700, dhayya
Rs 2,800-2,900 and shakkar Rs 3,000-3,100.
Muzaffarnagar: Rasket Rs 2,100-2,150, chakku Rs 2,250-2,525, khurpa Rs 2,250-2,350 and Ladoo Rs 2,450- 2,550.
