Gur prices remained steady at the wholesale gur (Jaggery) market in the national capital today in the absence of any worthwhile activity.

However, gur prices in Muzzafarnagar and Muradnagar eased due to reduced offtake by stockists against adequate supplies from producing areas.

Marketmen said lack of worthwhile activity kept gur prices unaltered at Delhi.

They said, however, adequate supplies from producing areas amidst reduced offtake by stockists kept pressure on gur at Muzzagarnagar and Muradnagar.

At Muzzafarnagar, gur chakku eased to Rs 2,175-2,300 against last close of Rs 2,175-2,350 per quintal.

In Muradngar, gur pedi and dhayya fell to Rs 2,050-2,125 and Rs 2,150-2,200 from previous close of Rs 2,150-2,175 and Rs 2,200-2,250 per quintal, respectively.

Following are today's rates (in Rs per quintal):

Gur chakku 2,400-2,500, pedi 2,500-2,600, dhayya 2,700-2,800 and shakkar 2,800-2,900.

Muzaffarnagar: Rasket 2,100-2,200, chakku 2,175-2,300, khurpa 2,050-2,100 and Ladoo 2,200-2,250.
