GWRL CMD Vayu Garware said the MoU marks another step in the company's Make in India approach where the firm will be able to cater to the needs of the Indian Defence by providing completely indigenised aerostats backed by reliable delivery and maintenance support.
Aerostats are tethered balloons and are capable of operating at an altitude of 15,000 feet. Augmented with radars, aerostats have proved very effective for low-level ground surveillance, the company said.
