'Gyankumbh' to begin in Haridwar from Nov 3

Hundreds of academicians from all over the country and education ministers of 18 states will converge in Haridwar on November 3 for a two-day conference called "Gyankumbh" to deliberate on methods to enhance the quality of higher education in the country.

President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate the event to be held at 'Patanjali Yogpeeth', Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said at a press conference here Thursday.

About 1,800 delegates, including education ministers of states, education secretaries, policy makers, university vice chancellors, college principals, researchers and students, from all over the country will participate in the conference which will be divided into five sessions, he said.

 

Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also be present there.

Rawat hoped that significant suggestions to improve the quality of higher education through an emphasis on innovation and research and a balanced approach to the Indian traditions will emerge from the event.
