Handicapped woman gangraped; three held

A physically handicapped woman was allegedly gangraped at Paithan village here, police said today.

According to police, the incident took place on July 20 when the woman, a labourer was called to Paithan by an acquaintance from Murtizapur tahsil town here on the pretext of work after which they sexually abused her.

Three persons --Aslam Shaikh, Yogesh Kachre and Shahabuddin Shaikh-- all residents of Dahiphal taluka Sheogaon were arrested yesterday in connection with the case after the victim filed a complaint, police said.

The trio has been remanded to police custody till July 29.
