Haryana amends Land Pooling scheme

The Haryana Government has amended its Land Pooling scheme which envisages involving landowners whose land has been acquired as partners in the development process.

The State Cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda here today approved the amendments in the scheme, an official release said here.

According to amendments, the land owners will now be permitted to opt for the scheme within one month from the date of determination of compensation amount of their acquired land.

The concerned Divisional Commissioner would hold the meetings at least three months prior to the last date for announcement of award.
 

The land owners will be free to opt for the scheme in any ratio and not 50:50 as prescribed in the scheme earlier, subject to a minimum of one acre land being offered under the Land Pooling Scheme, the release added.

The landowners will not be permitted to change their options at any subsequent stage once having exercised option after determination of rates of compensation by the Committee, it said.

The landowners are eligible to participate in this scheme only if minimum of half acre or more of his land was acquired, it added.
