Haryana government has formulated a policy to regularise the existing as well as new marriage palaces and banquet halls in state's municipal areas.

Announcing this today, an official spokesperson said the policy was formulated on the basis of a survey, in which reports were received from 39 municipalities on 328 existing marriage palaces and banquet halls.

"Keeping in view the information collected through the survey, various parameters have been formulated for examining the cases for regularisation," he said.

The officer said said against marriage palaces or banquet halls, whose request for regularisation were rejected by the competent authority, necessary action against violation or illegal constructions will be taken as per the law.

He said action will be taken against marriage palaces or banquet halls located in restricted or prohibited zones, or in the areas not to be considered for regularisation.
