Press Trust of India Ambala
Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader Kumari Selja today accused BJP led Haryana government of "failing" to compensate the victims of Jat quota agitation.

Talking to media persons here she claimed that the state government had not completely identified the people who had suffered huge losses during the violence and arson.

The Rajya Sabha MP demanded that the government should issue a white paper in this regard, mentioning how many properties were damaged in the riots and how many victims were compensated.

She alleged that the leaders of Haryana BJP were divided over the compensation process and it was the reason the victims had received only a small part compensation of their huge loss.

Referring to JNU issue, Selja said she was of the view that anti national activities should not be tolerated at any level but the genuine voice of the students should not be suppressed in dictatorial manner by the ruling party.

While defending Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, she said being the most senior leader of Opposition party, he had offered moral support to students who were fighting for their democratic rights.

When asked for her comment on the statement of Parkash Singh Badal regarding SYL issue she said whenever the Punjab assembly elections come, the SYL issue gets lots of attention.

She said the matter was already pending in Supreme Court and the leaders should avoid commenting over it.
