Haryana orders loss assessment due to rains

Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Abhimanyu Monday

directed the concerned officers to submit a report within four days about assessment of loss due to heavy rains.

"Already 'girdawari' (loss assessment) is being done for the damage due to rains for the last few days. And thus, the losses occurred due to rains today could also be included in this 'girdawari'," the minister said in a release here.

Abhimanyu said the government is keeping a vigil on the situation and all the officials have been instructed to stay alert.

He said that there were heavy rains in parts northern India on Monday and the government received complaints through various sources about loss of crops in the state and water logging.

 

He has immediately issued instructions to the Department of Revenue and Disaster Management and asked the concerned officers to send the complete report within four days about the damage caused by rains.

He also gave instructions to the concerned to take immediate steps for water drainage from the village or cities wherever there is water logging.

The minister said that information regarding damage occurred to paddy and other crops has also been received.
