Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Ankur Gupta today said the Election Commission of India has published schedule for the election to a Rajya Sabha seat that has fallen vacant due to the completion of tenure of MP Shadi Lal Batra.
The Election Commission has appointed Vijay Singh Dahiya as Returning Officer and Naren Dutt, Joint Secretary, Haryana Vidhan Sabha as Assistant Returning Officer for the Biennial Election, Gupta said in a release said release.
As per the schedule for the Biennial election, polling will be held on March 23 during 9 am to 4 pm. Votes will be counted at 5 pm on the same day.
