Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today confirmed that his government has received intelligence inputs about the state being a possible target of terror outfits.

"We are alert. It is true that we have received intelligence inputs," Parrikar told reporters.

Earlier in the day, NSG - the country's elite anti-terror force - had said that some global terror outfits like ISIS and Al-Queda were planning terror strikes in India.

Goa, a favourite destination of foreign tourists, has been for long feared to be on the radar of terrorists.

The state is gearing up for 45th International Film Festival of India and decennial exposition of relics of St Francis Xavier. Both events attract a large number of visitors from outside.
