The Patna High Court today rescinded a district court order awarding death sentence to three and life imprisonment to eight others in the murder of eleven CPI-ML supporters and acquitted them for want of evidence.
A division bench of V N Sinha and Amresh Kumar Lal accepted the plea of innocence of the eleven accused and acquitted them for want of evidance.
Eleven CPI-ML supporters were killed in Nagri Bazar in Bhojpur district in 1998 allegedly by members of Ranvir Sena, the militia of upper cast landlords.

All the accused had filed an appeal in the Patna High Court against the order of the district court.
