HC asks CBI to probe graft charges against UPSIDC officials

The Allahabad High Court today directed the CBI to register a case and conduct inquiry against three officials of Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation for allegedly amassing property in excess of known sources of income.
A division bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justice P K S Baghel passed the order on a Public Interest Litigation filed by Krishna Pratap Kaushik, who had levelled the accusation against UPSIDC Regional Manager Anil Kumar Verma, Executive Engineer Sanjai Tiwari and Superintending Engineer Manmohan.
The court asked CBI to submit its progress report by January 20, 2015.
