HC dismisses PIL seeking CBI probe into Vishnupriya's death

The Madras High Court today dismissed a PIL filed by "Traffic" Ramaswamy, a social activist, seeking a direction to transfer probe into the death of 27-year-old woman Deputy Superintendent of Police.
Te First Bench Comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Pushpa Sathyanarayana which pulled up petitioner said every case cannot be transferred to CBI for investigation.
The bench questioned the locus standi of Ramaswamy and observed that he was not a relation of the deceased.

In the mean time father of Vishnupriya has filed a plea seeking a transfer of the investigation into the ae to CBI.
Vishnupriya, DSP of Tiruchengode in Namakkal district, allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself on September 18.
