HC notice to state as ex-PWD secretary Marathe challenges FIR

The Bombay High Court bench here today issued a notice to Maharashtra government seeking a reply by June 22 on a petition filed by a former PWD Secretary, named by the state Anti-Corruption bureau in Maharashtra Sadan corruption case challenging the FIR against him.

Former Public Works Department Secretary Devdutta Marathe has challenged the FIR lodged by the Anti-Corruption Bureau which also names the former PWD minister and NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal and his family members.

Bhujbal and others are accused of favouring a private firm while giving contracts for construction of Maharashtra Sadan in New Delhi.

The division bench of Justices Bhushan Dharmadhikari and P N Deshmukh today issued notice to the state government and ACB.
