The Madras High Court today ordered issue of notice to the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar of Madurai Kamaraj University on a petition seeking to quash the notification of the University, inviting tender for the conduct of pre and post-Examination automation and on-line evaluation system.
Justice M.Venugopal of the Madurai bench of the HC ordered issue of notice returnable within two weeks.
The petitioner S.Vivekanandan submitted the scheme involved huge financial expenditure.

The petitioner, who is a member of the Academic Council and UG Board of Studies member, said such notifications could not be issued without the approval of the Academic Council, Senate and the Syndicate.
The tender notice issued for answer booklets, OMR sheets, was a purely academic matter which involved change in examination and evaluation pattern but it was not placed before the Academic Council, the petitioner submitted.
The Registrar had no jurisdiction to issue the tender notification as there was no approval from the Syndicate, Senate and the Academic council, he submitted and sought a direction to quash it.
