Press Trust of India Madurai
: The Madras High court bench today quashed the Teachers' Recruitment Board's order denying Post Graduate Assistant post for a candidate on the ground that she had studied MA and B.Ed in the same year.

Justice K Ravichandra Babu agreed with petitioner S Deepa's contention that TRB's order declining to grant appointment to her on the ground she had studied both B.Ed and M.A.In the same year was not substantiated.

The petitioner pointed out she had completed B.Ed in April 2008 and then M.A. (Tamil). She joined B.Ed. After doing her B.A (Tamil) in the 2007-08 academic year. After that she had joined M.A (Tamil) for 2008-09. She passed her first year examination in 2008 November and second year in 2009.

The judge said TRB could not put disqualifcation in the mid stream of recruitment process. TRB had earlier allowed similarly placed persons and they were now employed, he said

The judge directed the TRB member secretary to provide employment to the Petitioner.
