The Madras High Court today reserved orders on a PIL challenging the Centre empowering oil marketing companies to fix prices of fuel and pleading for a direction to rescind the existing pricing policy.
The First Bench, comprising Acting Chief Justice R K Agrawal and Justice M Sathyanarayanan, reserved the orders on the petition filed by R Balasubramanian, an advocate.
The petitioner had contended that the government should withdraw the powers given to oil marketing companies as the pricing policy being followed affected millions of people in the country.

The judges reserved orders on the matter.
