Kerala High Court has restrained for three months DC Books from publishing, selling or circulating the Malayalam translation of the controversial memoir of a former inmate of the Amritanandamayi Mutt in which she made allegations of sexual abuse.

In an interim order yesterday, Justice V Chidambaresh issued the direction on petitions filed by Sreejith Krishnan and K Premkumar challenging the decision of a court in Thiruvalla.

The Thiruvalla court had refused their plea to restrain the publisher from publshing, and selling the translated copoes.

Admitting the petition, the High Court also issued notices to Ravi Dee Cee, CEO of DC Books and John Brittas, Managing Director of Kairali TV who had interviewed the author of the memoir Gail Tredwell.

According to the petitioners, the book will tarnish the image of Mata Amritanandamayi, Amrita Math and Hindu Religion.
