HDK jumps into bypoll against Jaya

Hindu Desiya Katchi (HDK) President Mani today said he would contest against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in the byelection to R.K.Nagar Assembly constituency.

He told reporters here that if elected his party would take all efforts to provide basic amenities for the people of the constituency.

Mani is the second candidate announcing his decision to contest against Jayalalithaa after the PIL litigant Traffic Ramaswamy.

Main opposition DMK and PMK have announced their decision not to contest the election while the others including Congress and the BJP were yet to finalise their strategy.
