Head of Guatemalan military dies in chopper crash

The Guatemalan government today said that the head of its joint chiefs of staff has died in a helicopter crash near the border with Mexico.

Interior Secretary Maurio Lopez says Gen. Rudy Ortiz died today along with four other military officials after their helicopter fell in a mountainous area of the province of Huehuetenango.

Lopez says Gen. Braulio Mayen and three other officials were also killed.
