Health authorities circulating SMSs to check dengue

With no let up in dengue cases in the city, Health authorities are circulating SMSs with household tips to prevent breeding of mosquitoes.

As part of its effort to check dengue, the Directorate of Health Services has started alerting citizens about the precautionary measures to be adopted by the people through SMSs.

The SMSs being circulated among the public advises one to clean their coolers once in a week or add a table-spoon of petrol in the water cooler to keep it free from mosquito breeding or sprinkle temephos granules.

The message further advises not to let water get stored in unused or broken bottles, tyres, bottles, water trays of flower pots and containers and instructs one to cover the water tanks properly.
 

4,207 dengue cases have been reported till October 25 with North Delhi itself registering over 1,800 cases, a report released by the MCD said.
