: Aiming to bring advanced and efficient treatment facilties for patients suffering from Heart failure, Lakeshore Hospital has started a 'Heart Failure' clinic.
The clinic was inaugurated by state Home minister, Ramesh chennithala, at a function here yesterday.
Among the various facilties being offered at the clinic include Heart Transplants, Dr Philip Augustine, Managing Director, of Lakeshore Hospital and Research Centre Ltd, said.

Lakeshore Hospital Multi organ transplant Director Dr. Philip G. Thomas, Cardiac Thoracic Surgeons Dr Moosa Kunhi, Dr. Rakesh Gopal, Cardiac Electro Physiologist D. Bhima Shankar were among those who spoke.
Heart Failure is the inability of the heart to pump enough blood to meet the body needs. It is due to the damage of the heart, due to heart attacks, high BP, valve problems and sometimes even with unknown reasons, Dr Augustine said.
The awareness of "heart attacks" is reasonably better compared with that of heart failure. Also the outcomes and management of these patients is not as encouraging as compared to "heart attacks", he said.
