Heat wave swept parts of Haryana and Punjab today with Hisar being the hottest place in the two states at a maximum temperature of 45 degrees Celsius.
Hisar was followed by Narnaul which registered its maximum at 43.5 degrees Celsius, the MeT Department said here today.
Mercury in Ambala and Karnal settled at 41.4 and 42 degrees Celsius respectively, it said.

Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 41.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, while Amritsar registered a high of 41.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above normal.
Ludhiana and Patiala too braved a hot day with a maximum of 42.2 and 42.4 degrees Celsius respectively, it said.
The weatherman has predicted light rain or thundershowers at isolated places in the two states over the next two days.
