Eight people have died due to a severe heat wave in Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district, a senior official said today.
The district has been under the grip of severe heat wave for the last three days witnessing high temperatures of about 42 to 45 degree Celsius.
The heat wave has claimed eight lives in East Godavari in the last three days, District Collector H Arunkumar said.

Mercury soared to 42 degrees Celsius at Kakinada district headquarters yesterday, 43 degrees in Rajahmundry town and 44 degrees in Tuni municipality on the district outskirts, according to local Met department.
People have been asked to take precautionary steps while stepping out in the sweltering heat.
