Heavy rainfall in Nashik district

Nashik city and other parts of this district in North Maharashtra received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours ended this morning, boosting water level in a key day.

The district recorded 200.4 mm of rains in the past 24 hours ended at 8 am. Since June 1, the district has recorded 6790.3 mm of rainfall, according to official figures.

Following bountiful rains Gangapur dam, the main source of drinking water for the Nashik city, is filled up to 71 per cent of its capacity of 5,630 mcft water.

Water levels in other reservoirs have also gone up.
