Heavy rains lashed parts of
Rajasthan, with Mount Abu recording maximum rainfall of 27 cm till this morning.
Dungarpur, Ajmer, Udaipur and Jodhur division also received heavy rains, a MeT official said.
An upper air cyclonic circulation (CYCIR), which had risen from Bay of Bengal a week ago, has created moderate to heavy rains in Rajasthan since yesterday, the official said.
Southwest monsoon has already departed from the state in early September, and it is purely the CYCIR affecting the weather, he said.
Rains have given respite from hot and humid weather conditions in the entire state.
Dungarpur, Pishangan, Kherwara recorded rainfall of 17 cm each, Mangaliwas - 16, Nayanagar - 14, Kanwa and Salumber - 13 each, Pushkar and Ajmer - 11 each, Jodhpur - 10, Vallabhnagar - 8, Vijaynagar and Asind - 7 each, Barisadri -6, Kotra and Barmer - 5 cms each, and Kishangarh 4 cm.
Overcast by rainy clouds since last night, Jaipur received intermittent rains of about 2 mm.
Unexpected rains will continue till October 2, as the CYCIR was to cover remaining parts of the state, a forecast said.
