Heavy rains lash Thane city district

The city witnessed heavy downpour throughout the day and many areas were marooned, district authorities said here today.

The Thane Regional Disaster Control Officer Santosh Kadam told PTI that a disaster control team swung into action and rescused the people he said.

Wada Zilla Parishad member Jyoti Thackeray of the Shiv Sena complained that roads are in a precarious condition.

Due to the rains, roads were breached and in some places, bridges developed cracks, she said.
