Heavy vehicular traffic banned in Udhampur city

District Magistrate Udhampur, P K Pole has completely banned the entry of heavy vehicles including trucks, tankers, tippers, tractors with trolley and heavy vehicles of Army on the stretch of Dhar-Udhampur Road from bypass to Jakhani via Slathia Chowk-DC Office-Subash Chowk.

According to the order, heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter Udhampur town from Phalta through Old National Highway and they shall follow the bypass road during peak hours -- 6 AM to 9 PM.

During non-peak hours (9 PM to 6 AM) heavy vehicles may be allowed to pass through Udhampur town.

The restrictions were not applicable to vehicles which required repairs at private workshops situated between Jakhani Chowk to Raj Theatre between 2 PM to 4 PM which may be allowed after proper verification, the order stated.
