Held for impersonating friend in constable recruitment test

A youth was today arrested on the charges of impersonation for allegedly appearing in a police constable recruitment exam in place of his friend.

Ankur Chauhan was arrested for writing the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment Examination for his friend Vivek Chauhan, SP (Rural) and nodal officer for the exam Jagdish Sharma said.

The exam was being held at a college for girls in Vijay Nagar here.

Sharma said Ankur was nabbed by a flying squad.

A complaint in this regard was lodged by the principal of the college.

An FIR under IPC Section 419 (impersonation) and 420 (cheating) has been registered.
 

The recruitment test was conducted at 24 centres and 15,492 aspirants appeared in it.
